Join the Jewish Contingent at Pride

Ahavat Olam will participate in the Vancouver 2010 Pride parade on August 1, 2010. This will be the eighth year in a row, every year since the inception of this congregation, for participation in the Pride parade.

Everyone is welcome – look for updates about where we’re meeting on this website or call 604 875 0240 for more information. Or just jump in and join us when you see the Ahavat Olam banner and hear the shofar calling.

The Ahavat Olam presence in the parade has ranged from a walking contingent to a vehicle with a depiction of a rabbi marrying two brides. This year, members, friends, and other supporters will walk the parade route with the Ahavat Olam banner.

Each year, we get a warm welcome from the onlookers. What’s encouraging is that each year, a few people always run out to say they’re so glad to have found us. It’s wonderful to know we’ve opened up an avenue for someone to express their spirituality without hiding aspects of themselves.
