Dance with the Torah Wednesday night
Come sing and dance with the Torah.
Wednesday night, September 29, 7:30 – 9:30 pm. 2644 Manitoba Street.
כי הם חיינו וארך ימינו
“Ki hem hayyeinu ve-orech yameinu.”
“They are our very life and the length of our days.”
Each year at the end of the Sukkot holiday we complete that year’s cycle of reading the Torah and we immediately begin again. After the sun sets, we chant aloud the final verse of Deuteronomy and right away roll back and start to read the opening verses of Genesis to start a new year of exploring and learning through the transmission of Torah. It’s Simhat Torah, a totally joyous holiday!
Join us to sing and dance with the Torah. Bring light refreshments to share (kosher only, please) and liquid refreshments of all kinds. Simhat Torah is one time when we are encouraged to get high, leave our inhibitions behind and be happy!
