Ahavat Olam’s  5772/2011 High Holiday Guide to Kiddushes and Seudot  (festive holiday meals)

EVERYONE IS WELCOME – members, friends, and visitors, young and old, and in between

All of our services and seudot (festive meals) will take place at our Ahavat Olam home:  6184 Ash Street (at the Peretz Center).  It is accessible and inviting…..

Erev Rosh HaShanah Wednesday, September 28:  Daven at 6 pm and then stay for the seudah right after… OR come simply to the seudah at  7:45 PM –  Here is the menu:

Kiddush    Apples and Honey        Challah
Roasted Eggplant, Israeli, and Chickpea Salads  Rice
Vegetable Soup with Barley or Gluten Free Soup (let us know)
Honey Mustard Dill wild Salmon or Lasagne (let me know your choice)
Cake (gluten free too) Provided gratis by Sweet Obsessions (Baruch Levi)

Bring a bottle of wine or non-alcoholic spritzers for your table!

Here is how to make your reservation!

  1.  Timing:  Reservation and payment by Sunday September 25 midnight!
  2.  Selections:  When you register, please write on your cheque or say in your voice mail  message whether you want fish or lasagne and whether you want the gluten free soup and dessert.
  3. Cost:   The cost is $25 per adult and $12 for kids under bar/bat mitzvah age.  See Number 4 and 5 below.  You can place your reservation with Michal in several ways. You can pay by CHEQUE payable to Ahavat Olam.    Send the cheque to: 2644 Manitoba Street, Vancouver V5Y 3A8.  You can also put CASH or your cheque into an envelope and deliver your payment to the same address.  You can phone in credit card information on Michal’s voice mail at (604) 780-1054. To do so, remember to leave your full name, credit card number, expiration date, and  your phone number with that phone message.
  4. Feeling financially Stretched?  Thanks to generous donors to the Rabbi’s Fund, the dinner cost will be reduced for all who find the cost a s-t-r-e-t-c-h.  Call Reb David at 604-781-7839.  This will be confidential.
  5. Please consider topping off your reservation with additional funds as the cost of the dinner is actually $37 per person.  You may be able to help pay the costs for someone who feels stretched by $25.   Ahavat Olam is not charging the real costs because we don’t want anyone to feel that the cost is too high to participate.  If you would like to help cover the anticipated shortfall of approximately $500 to cover everyone attending the Rosh HaShanah dinner, or to make your dinner cost = to the true cost, please simply top up your payment for the dinner!  Operators are standing by!  Todah Rabah in advance for this mitzvah.  Small and large donations are welcome.
