Shabbat morning, October 31, 2020 תפילת שבת
Ahavat Olam Synagogue welcomes everyone to join us on line via Zoom in thoughtful, moving Shabbat morning prayers on October 31 at 10:00am, mostly sung, much in Hebrew, some in English, some in the language of the heart and in the speech of the angels.
Please let us know at info@ahavat-olam.ca if you wish to attend. We will get back to you with the information you’ll need to log in to the online Zoom meeting.
The weekly parshah (Torah portion) is Lech Lecha (Genesis 12:1 – 17:27), which tells of our father Abram and mother Sarai’s emigration from their home to a new land — “a land that I will show you” — a land they’d never seen, whose location they didn’t even know. As we witness the accelerating migrations of peoples in our own day — due to war, climate change, economic necessity, or any of a myriad of other forces — it’s helpful to recall our allyship with the driven of the earth.
If you have questions, please write to info@ahavat-olam.ca.
