Our Rabbi
Providing spiritual leadership to Ahavat Olam is Rabbi David Mivasair, a 1991 graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and personal ordainee of Rabbi Zalman Hiyya Schachter-Shalomi, שליט”א. David previously served for four years as the rabbi of the Brit Shalom Congregation in State College, Pennsylvania, and for eight years with Or Shalom in Vancouver.
Reb David is a progressive, open-minded rabbi with a gentle soul. He values the image of the divine in all, which is reflected in his commitment to the beliefs he holds, such as peace in Israel-Palestine and the rights of gays and lesbians to marry.
