Ahavat Olam Synagogue welcomes everyone to join us in person, outdoors for thoughtful, moving Shabbat evening prayers on August 19 at 7:30pm, mostly sung, much in Hebrew, some in English, some in the language of the heart and in the speech of the angels. Details:
Please join us for singing, pot luck, and a little aufruf (“calling up”) — a blessing for a soon-to-be betrothed couple. Join us to dance in the grapevines and apple orchards as our Tu B’av love celebrations continue.
The weekly parshah (Torah portion) is Ekev (Deuteronomy 7:12-11:25). Moses exhorts the children of Israel to annihilate non-believers, to obey the Commandments, and to fear the Divine. Lots to dance around with in this portion.
We’re deeply grateful to the wonderful folks at Copley for letting us meet there in their beautiful space. (If you don’t already know about this great project, please check out their web site: http://www.copleycommunityorchard.com
