Ahavat Olam Synagogue welcomes everyone to join us ONLINE VIA ZOOM in thoughtful, moving Kabbalat Shabbat evening prayers on February 19, 2021 at 7:30pm, mostly sung, much in Hebrew, some in English, some in the language of the heart and in the speech of the angels.

The weekly parshah (Torah portion) is Terumah (Exodus 25:1 – 27:19). Terumah means “gifts” and a lot of things are given: the stone tablets inscribed with the commandments; the Mishkan or “dwelling” for the Divine; the freewill offerings from which we make the holy things to furnish that Divine dwelling. Preparing a holy space, spiritual or physical, internal or external, takes an effort of will.
