Shabbat evening קבלת שבת

Ahavat Olam Synagogue welcomes everyone to join us online via Zoom in thoughtful, moving Kabbalat Shabbat evening prayers on June 18, 2021 at 7:30pm, mostly sung, much in Hebrew, some in English, some in the language of the heart and in the speech of the angels.

The weekly parshah (Torah portion) is Chukat (Numbers 19:1-22:1). It includes the curious purification rite of the red heifer (parah adumah), the curative power of the bronze serpent, and records Miriam’s death, Aaron’s death, and Moses’ error at the waters of Meribah.
