Ahavat Olam Synagogue welcomes everyone to join us online via Zoom for thoughtful, moving Shabbat evening prayers on March 18, 2022 at 7:30pm, mostly sung, much in Hebrew, some in English, some in the language of the heart and in the speech of the angels.

The weekly parshah (Torah portion) is Tzav (Leviticus 6:1 – 8:36). The Holy One continues to describe the different laws of sacrifices. In the Haftarah portion (Jeremiah 7:21-28; 9:22-23), the prophet rebukes and warns us that sacrifices are not enough: indeed, sacrifices without righteousness — empty show without moral action — are abhorrent; hypocrisy will lead to disaster. “Kindness, justice, and equity in the world: in these I delight, declares the Eternal.”
