Shabbat morning תפילת שבת
May 14, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm PDT
Ahavat Olam Synagogue welcomes everyone to join us on line via Zoom in thoughtful, moving Shabbat morning prayers on May 14, 2022 at 10:00 am, mostly sung, much in Hebrew, some in English, some in the language of the heart and in the speech of the angels.
Please join us if you can: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87961573615?pwd=eHRTWEV6dDNneWs2U2M5a0dIVHNVdz09
The weekly parshah (Torah portion) is Emor: (Leviticus 21:1-24:23). Moses receives commandments related to priests’ sexuality and marriage, as well as descriptions of a variety of holidays, including Passover, Shabbat, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, and an outline of the omer period, asking the Israelites to bring food offerings to the priests for seven weeks.

[We are instructed to count seven full weeks of days during the period between Pesach and Shavuot. Each day carries a special quality depending on where and in which week it falls. “So teach us to number our days, that we may get us a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12).
