Peace Meal (formerly Feed the Hungry)

Ahavat Olam has been a proud participant in the Peace Meal (formerly Feed the Hungry) program for a number of years. This program brings together Muslims, Jews, as well as others, to work side by side, cooking and serving a nutritious meal for the homeless of the Downtown East Side. The opportunity for Tikkun Olam is twofold. It is in the feeding of over 150 citizens in need of a good meal, and also for cross-cultural understanding between Jews and Muslims in a low-key, respectful environment. This is also a popular initiative for school groups.

You can sign up to be part of this extremely worthwhile initiative by going to the the Peace Meal Eventbrite page. There is always need for cooks, setup or clean-up crews, greeters, and servers.
