Ahavat Olam

A progressive synagogue in Vancouver, BC, Canada

About

Ahavat Olam is a progressive, activist synagogue in Vancouver, BC, that welcomes everyone, of all backgrounds, affiliations and orientations. Inspired by the prophets of Israel, we strive for a compassionate and meaningful interpretation of our religious tradition, and share a strong commitment to tikkun olam – repair of the world and personal spiritual transformation. Our values are reflected in our active initiatives to support peace in the Middle East, full participation of gays and lesbians in all areas of religious life, inter-spiritual dialogue, and nurturing our own spiritual growth.

Our inclusive and egalitarian community offers free Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and occasional Shabbat services at the Peretz Centre, 6184 Ash Street. See our services calendar for exact dates and times.

Shabbat services are from 10:00am-12:30pm, followed by a potluck kiddush lunch.
