Ahavat Olam Synagogue welcomes everyone to join us on line via Zoom in thoughtful, moving Shabbat morning prayers on March 5, 2022 at 10:00 am, mostly sung, much in Hebrew, some in English, some in the language of the heart and in the speech of the angels.

The weekly parshah (Torah portion) is Pekudei (Exodus 38:21 – 40:38). The Mishkan – the Sanctuary, the place made for the presence of the Divine – is completed, along with all the ritual garments, furnishings, and k’lei kodesh – holy utensils – that go along with it. After an elaborate and detailed ceremony of dedication, the Sanctuary and its Priests are ready for service, and the Children of Israel are ready to embark on the next stage of their journey.

What do we need to do today to prepare a dwelling place for the Divine in our world? What do we need to clear out in order to make room? What implements – mental or physical, spiritual or metaphorical – do we need to dedicate to the Divine service?
