Ahavat Olam Synagogue welcomes everyone to join us on line via Zoom in thoughtful, moving Shabbat morning prayers on March 6 2021 at 10:00 am, mostly sung, much in Hebrew, some in English, some in the language of the heart and in the speech of the angels.

The weekly parshah (Torah portion) is Ki Tisa (Exodus 30:11 – 34:35). It chronicles a moment of powerful tension and irony: Moses is at the top of the mountain, learning Torah directly with the Divine; meanwhile the Children of Israel, fearing Moses has abandoned them, get Aaron to build for them that idol-par-excellence, the Golden Calf. Celestial enlightenment and earthly folly: teach us to get us a heart of wisdom so we may distinguish which is which.
