Rosh Hashanah Kiddush Lunch
Due to popular demand, we ask for reservations for the festive lunch that takes place after Rosh Hashanah morning services. If you wish to attend our Rosh Hashana community meal, please contact Bonnie (e-mail kiddush@ahavat-olam.ca) and include the names of the attendees in your household.
For potluck contributions, please see our suggestions. Depending on attendance, we generally provide catered food to supplement the potluck dishes. To offset some of the catering expenses, Ahavat Olam will be grateful for your contribution of $18 per adult for the meal, and $7 for each child 12 years of age or less.
If you would like to attend, but find it hard to stretch your budget that far, please let Bonnie know when you make your reservation. Those who can afford it are invited also to donate to help fund a Rosh Hashanah lunch for someone who wants to join us, but who finds it hard to pay for the meal.
Please ensure that all reservations and payment are in one week ahead of time so we know how many to buy for.
- Cheques to cover the $18 or $7 amounts (and for the meals you are donating), payable to Ahavat Olam, with Rosh Hashanah Kiddush Lunch on the memo line of the cheque, may be mailed to Ahavat Olam at:
Ahavat Olam
201 – 4088 Cambie Street
Vancouver, BC. V5Z 2X8.
- Cash may be given to Bonnie or to Michael Barkusky at the luncheon: in an envelope with your name, the amount, and the breakdown of what you are paying, i.e., lunch, tsedakah, donation to A”O, membership ($18), etc.
- If you need a tax receipt for donations, please pay through the Donations link on our web site: https://www.gifttool.com/donations/Donate?AID=15&ID=51&VER=1&LNG=EN
- You may also email money in an eTransfer to Michael Barkusky, our treasurer, clearly stating the breakdown of what you are paying, and he will place it in the A”O account.
Also, and this is very important, we need help setting up for the luncheon and cleaning up afterward. Many hands make light work. So please write to Bonnie Glassford directly if you can volunteer. Thanks.
